Terms of service

1Scope

These terms apply to everyone who uses the SMS Passport virtual number service and website (the service). Creating an account means you accept them.

2Accounts and access tokens

An account is created with one access token. The token is used to log in, and the server keeps only a hash to check it.

A lost token cannot be recovered. Keeping it safe is your responsibility.

Up to 3 accounts can be created per IP address.

3The service

The service sells single-use and rental numbers that receive SMS. Numbers are receive-only. Sending SMS and calls are not provided.

Apps, countries and prices on sale may change with supply.

4Permitted use

Use the service lawfully, for example to keep your own number private, to build and test apps or to run work accounts.

It may not be used to take over other people's accounts, for fraud or phishing, spam, illegal trade or attacks on other services.

5Top-ups and charges

Top-ups start at $10 and are added to your balance once payment is confirmed.

The price of a number is deducted from your balance when you order it.

6Refunds

If a single-use number receives no code within 20 minutes, or you cancel before a code arrives, the price returns to your balance. The balance cannot be withdrawn.

7Suspension

If we find use that breaks these terms, we may stop the service without notice. Any remaining balance is handled according to the violation.

8Liability

The service provides numbers and shows the SMS they receive. You are responsible for what you do on services you join with them.

We are not liable for losses caused by events outside our control, such as natural disasters or supplier outages.

9Changes

When these terms change, we post the new version on this page with its effective date. Using the service after that means you accept it.
